HIS 362 - Historiography

This is a junior-level course that focuses on the history of written history, the methodology of historians, and the various schools of thought within the discipline. This course will examine the basic problems which face historians and look at representative philosophies of history. This course will also emphasize the most significant periods of European and American Historiography and examine the development of African American historiography. Additionaly students will begin their senior thesis projects in this course, allowing them to apply their knowledge and research skills to a substanial, original historical investigation.
