MAT 106 - Contemporary Mathematics 3 Semester Hour(s)
Prerequisite(s): MAT 091 with a grade of “C.” This course is an introduction to modern mathematical concepts. Graphs and networks, scheduling problems, fundamental statistical concepts, the mathematics of check digits and bar codes, theory of elections, and exponential growth. This course should enable the student to become an informed participant in the social decision-making process and to understand the mathematical ideas behind many modern institutions. Offered every fall.
