EDU 504 - Research, Design, and Evaluation in Education 3 Semester Hour(s)
This course provides an introduction of concepts, ideas, methodology, and issues related to the research process. It will include examination of quantitative, qualitative, and research design. This course will examine the formal research process, with a concentration on practical application and skill development. Critical concepts and principles essential to research paradigms, study designs, and method of inquiry are presented. The course will also provide the opportunity for students to identify and develop a research topic, define a research problem, describe the purpose of the research study, and establish respective research question(s). Students will be involved in developing a comprehensive proposal that will be reviewed by their professor or instructor and committee chair. This proposal may contain an introduction, theories, hypotheses, scholarly literature review, research methods, proposal options and any other significant resources to the capstone project research proposal. Students will present their capstone project research proposal paper in a public format at the end of the semester.
