EDU 585 - Advanced Data Analysis and Statistics

Prerequisite(s): EDU 504  or concurrent consent of the instructor and advisor.
This course will provide students with guidance on their graduate capstone project research regarding a topic that has been approved by the student’s Graduate Advisor and coordinator of the graduate program. Students begin the process of preparing a project for a research problem with analysis of an original dataset. This course will address advanced data analysis, statistics, and aid students in successfully understanding how to analyze data driven research. Content will include but not be limited to: data and data files, data screening, scaling, visual representations of data, descriptive statistics, correlation and simple regression, sampling distributions, and the assumptions associated with and the application of selected inferential statistical procedures (including t-tests, chi-square, and one-way ANOVA).
